West Midlands Police have released an update on homophobic crimes that have been taking place recently in Birmingham’s Gay Village.

The latest attack was on 38-year-old John-Paul Kessler where he was hit with a bottle on Sunday Evening. On Twitter, West Midlands Police have released a video where Superintendent James Littlehales said, “they have identified a suspect within 24 hours and are now seeking to bring them into custody.”

These attacks have been increasing within Birmingham. In response to this, West Midlands Police will be increasing their presence in the Gay Village. The police have also pushed to make sure that if anyone experiences any form of hate crime, for it to be reported to them no matter the size of the crime.
